Not Your Average Art evolved from a vision to offer up-and-coming artists an opportunity for personal and financial growth, along with the ability to develop their desired career in creating beautiful pieces of art.

Founder and fellow artist Joseph Butte recognized that high commissions from typical art galleries were creating a roadblock for many emerging and talented local artists. A lack of art galleries in rural New Brunswick and a burst of tourism growth in the naturally stunning seaside community of St. Martins inspired the gallery's vision. In 2018, he opened the gallery near his home, giving local and even international artists a platform to display and sell their unique creations to local fine art enthusiasts and visitors from around the world.
Joseph and his wife Kaz love living and working as a team, and also enjoy being active within their community.
